Miami (USA) – This Thursday’s round in Miami will feature the semifinals of the women’s group and also the quarterfinals of the men’s tournament. The games start at 2pm (Brasília time), with the night session scheduled for 8pm.
The first game of the day will be between German Alexander Zverev and Hungarian Fabian Marozsan, 57th in the ranking and who has already beaten two top 10 players in Miami, Holger Rune and Alex de Minaur. It will be the first time they face each other.
Then, at 4pm, the first women’s semi-final takes place. Three-time Miami champion, former number 1 Victoria Azarenka tries to overcome the current runner-up of the tournament, Elena Rybakina. The three previous duels were won by the Kazakh.
The third game of the day will be between Carlos Alcaraz and Grigor Dimitrov, at 8pm. Champion in Miami two seasons ago, the Spaniard leads the record 3-1. But the Bulgarian won the most recent duel, in Beijing.
At the end of the round, two players seeking the first WTA 1000 final of their careers, 30-year-old North American Danielle Collins and 29-year-old Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova. The confrontation between them is unprecedented on the circuit.
