Gabigol would have started pre-training before the arrival of doping examiners
Gabigol went on trial last Monday (25), accused of defrauding an anti-doping test in April 2023. However, Flamengo’s health and high performance manager, doctor Márcio Tannure, who had instructed the red-black striker.
According to Caio Ribeiro, participating in SporTV’s “Boleiragem”, Gabigol’s decision not to meet the examiners immediately was Márcio Tannure’s. During the broadcast of the program, last Monday (25), the presenter and former player explained the red-black doctor’s motivation.
According to Caio Ribeiro, Tannure informed the examiners that Gabigol had already carried out activities at the gym on the morning of April 8, 2023. As a result, Flamengo’s doctor informed that the results of the collection could have some changes.
— When the anti-doping test staff arrived at the club, Gabigol had already started his pre-training, which is stipulated individually for each athlete. This would cause a change in the exam, if he took it together with the other players, because he had already done the weight training part. To reset the body and have cleaner feedback on the exam, he would have to wait two hours –said Caio Ribeiro before completing:
— Gabigol was instructed by Tannure, Flamengo’s doctor, who informed the anti-doping test staff: “He has started work in the weight room, we need to wait two hours and then he will take the test like everyone else has already done”. What is the difference? The other players arrived after the exam. When they arrived, Gabigol had already started work. He says he has images and the time of his arrival to prove this information. -, he concluded.
GABIGOL’S CONVICTION
First of all, Gabigol was sentenced to two years of suspension for fraud in the anti-doping test. However, after the verdict of the Anti-Doping Sports Justice Court (TJDA), Flamengo decided that it will appeal the decision of the (TJDA).
It is worth mentioning that Flamengo is going to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to try to appeal Gabigol’s conviction. At the moment, the attacker is prevented from training at Ninho do Urubu and cannot even visit the club’s headquarters in Gávea.
Flamengo idol, Zico offered the facilities at the Zico Football Center (CFZ) for Gabigol to train. It is worth noting that the red-black striker’s sentence began to run from April 2023, meaning the player would have to serve a year of suspension.
