The Planalto crisis office received cruel reports from Rio Grande do Sul. In addition to the destruction and deaths, three cases of rape were recorded in shelters.

When addressing the issue at a meeting, an Army officer desperately asked the government to send social workers to these spaces.

According to authorities in Rio Grande do Sul, the Civil Police have already arrested six men suspected of rapes committed in shelters amid the disaster caused by the rains in the state. The cases occurred in the capital, Porto Alegre, in Canoas and Viamão.
