Businessman Elon Musk announced on social media this Thursday that the company Starlink, which operates in the area of satellite internet, will donate a thousand terminals to emergency teams to assist in the situation that RS faces after the floods in the State in recent days.
“Given the terrible floods in Rio Grande do Sul, Starlink will donate 1,000 terminals to emergency teams and make free use of all terminals in the region until the region recovers. I hope the best for the people of Brazil”, published the billionaire.
The post, in fact, was accompanied by a video of model Gisele Bündchen from Rio Grande do Sul asking for help for Rio Grande do Sul. “My state, Rio Grande do Sul, in the south of Brazil, had the worst tragedy in its history. Heavy rains flooded entire cities. In most of the state, it’s not just one or two cities, there are more than 350 cities affected. People are not just losing their homes, their jobs. They are losing everything. And there are still many to be rescued”, she says.
On Wednesday, another company considered one of the largest in the world, Apple, had also announced donations to help the situation in RS.
