Brazil has already recorded 2,073 confirmed deaths from dengue this year and another 2,291 deaths are under investigation. Throughout 2023, 1,179 Brazilians lost their lives to the disease.
The data, released this Tuesday (30) by the Ministry of Health, also points to 4,176,810 probable cases of the disease already reported across the country in the first four months.
Currently, 13 states, in addition to the Federal District, show a downward trend in the number of cases: Acre, Amapá, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Rondônia, Roraima, Santa Catarina and São Paulo. Another eight states have a stable trend: Alagoas, Amazonas, Bahia, Maranhão, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pernambuco, Piauí and Rio Grande do Sul. The states of Ceará, Mato Grosso, Pará, Sergipe and Tocantins continue to show an increasing trend.
A sad record in our history and one that exposes the inability of the Lula government and his ministers to deal with emergency situations.
Meanwhile, the former trade unionist parades around speaking nonsense in meaningless speeches and participating in meetings and ‘secret dinners’ to distribute billion-dollar bonuses in parliamentary amendments to try to approve his evil package by force.
