Save against Nacional in the South American? ge Corinthians debate

Corinthians finished their preparations to face Nacional-PAR in a game that will be played this Tuesday, at 7pm (Brasília time), in Paraguay, in the fourth round of the Conmebol Sul-Americana group stage.

On Monday morning, the squad trained in the gym before warming up on the pitch. Afterwards, coach António Oliveira promoted ball possession activities, post-loss pressure and confrontation in a reduced field.

Some players made additions after training, with direct free kicks and defensive headers. In the material released by Corinthians, it was possible to see Igor Coronado training with the ball. The midfielder could be involved in this Tuesday’s match.

For the away match, Corinthians will be without defender Raul Gustavo, suspended for being sent off in the defeat to Argentinos Juniors. In addition to him, striker Pedro Henrique and full-back Diego Palacios should remain out, both recovering from injuries.

There is a possibility that defender Gustavo Henrique and striker Yuri Alberto will travel to Paraguay with the rest of the squad. The duo has improved and should be released by the medical department for the match.

A likely Corinthians team to face Nacional-PAR must have: Carlos Miguel; Fagner (Matheuzinho), Félix Torres, Cacá and Hugo; Raniele, Breno Bidon and Rodrigo Garro (Paulinho); Romero, Wesley (Yuri Alberto) and Pedro Raul.

With four points after three rounds, Corinthians occupies third place in Group F, outside the classification zone for the round of 16 of Conmebol Sul-Americana.

The first place in each of the eight groups guarantees a direct place, while the second-placed team in each group faces, in round-trip games, the team that was eliminated and placed third in the group stage of the Conmebol Libertadores.
