This weekend, there is “Vaccination Saturday”. It is the joint effort carried out by the Municipal Health Department (SMS) of Salvador to expand the population’s access to vaccines against dengue and flu. The joint effort will take place from 8 am to 4 pm, in more than 40 points including health units, drive-thrus, transfer stations and commercial points with large circulation of people.
Dengue vaccine
Target audience: pre-teens and teenagers aged 10 to 14.
Requirement: it is necessary to present the Salvador SUS Card with original document with photo.
Against influenza (flu virus)
Target audience: anyone over six months of age.
Conditions: babies and children under 12 will only be vaccinated at health centers. As a result, external points (shopping malls, supermarkets, transfer stations) will exclusively accommodate the elderly population aged 12 and over.
Requirement: presentation of the vaccination card and original document with photo is desirable.
“Our commitment is to reinforce care for the population and, to this end, we made the vaccine available on another Saturday, a day on which many families can dedicate part of their free time to a commitment to health. The vaccines are free and will be at strategic points to intensify the offer”, said Ana Paula Matos, vice-mayor and head of the SMS.
