Duane Eddy, considered a rock legend, and winner of the Grammy, He died at the age of 86, last Tuesday, the 30th, due to cancer. The information was released this Thursday, 2, by Variety.

A representative for the guitarist told the publication that he was accompanied by his wife, Deed Abbate, and his family: “Duane inspired a generation of guitarists around the world with his unmistakable sound. A truly humble and incredible human being. He will be greatly missed.”

The artist was a pioneering guitarist and wrote theme songs for the TV series Rebel Rouser and Peter Gunn in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Furthermore, he influenced big names in music such as Bruce Springsteen, George Harrison, among others.

John Fogerty, founding vocalist and guitarist of Creedence Clearwater Revival, even spoke of Duane in a past interview as the “Guitar God”.

Because of his unique sound and abilities, Duane Eddy was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. He was also nominated for two Grammys and won his first at the 29th Annual Grammy Awards in 1987.
