Revelations: PF investigates gang rape on Luxury Cruise in Brazil | CGN

This Tuesday morning, the Federal Police (PF) mobilized a major operation in the cities of Nova Iguaçu and Rio de Janeiro, to investigate a case of gang rape that occurred in 2022. The crime, according to the details of the investigation, took place at aboard a cruise in Angra dos Reis, where a 28-year-old woman was a victim of sexual abuse.

According to PF reports, the woman was taken to a cabin on the ship after consuming alcohol, in a context that suggests inability to consent. In the cabin, three men, aged between 27 and 30, allegedly took advantage of the young woman’s vulnerable situation to begin sexual relations with her while she was unconscious.

To collect and gather evidence that links the suspects to the traces found on the day of the crime, 24 federal police officers were assigned to carry out seven search and seizure warrants in this operation. The investigations are being conducted by the Federal Police Station in Angra dos Reis.

If the suspects are convicted of the crime of rape of a vulnerable person, they could face sentences of up to 20 years in prison.
