Mother and daughter have been living in the McDonald’s in Leblon, in Rio de Janeiro. Susane Paula Muratoni Geremia, 64, and Bruna Muratori Geremia, 31, sleep on the sidewalk and wait for the store to open to spend the day at McDonald’s. According to CBNwhich released the information this Thursday (25), the company’s legal department consider suing the women.

Both are accompanied by at least five suitcases. The franchise owner informed that they are consumers of the store and pay with a debit card.

Neighbors of the establishment reported that the women have cell phones and always wear clothes in good condition.

“When the Mac closes, they sit outside, they don’t move away. When it opens in the morning, they come in and always get the table near the door. Very sad, living in a cafeteria is an unsustainable situation”, reported a neighbor.

Susana and Bruna reportedly refused help from businesspeople, residents and public authorities. Authorities from Rio City Hall and the State Government tried some type of assistance for the two, which was rejected each time.

After several attempts to help them, the owner of the location took the case to a national meeting among the country’s franchisees. During the meeting, it was informed that the company is considering suing the duo for consumer abuse.

To a social worker from the Segurança Presente project, Bruna reported that her husband would be in Parisin France, and that when he returned, they would rent an apartment.

Bruna has already worked as a language teacher, hotel attendant and receptionist at a bakery in the neighborhood.

Susane’s husband now lives in the United Kingdom. The couple are partners in a chemical and petrochemical wholesale company in Porto Alegre.

Rent debts and defaults

The two would have also given a default on a hotel, in 2022. According to a salesperson who worked at the location, the two checked out without paying what they owed. The story was confirmed by a hotel manager, who chose not to report them to avoid exposing the establishment.

It was also found that the pair would give a “scam” on apartment rentals. They rented the properties and stopped fulfilling the contract, failing to pay the rent. In the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, two cases were found, and they were even condemned. The debt was around R$10,000.

In Rio de Janeiro, one of the “scams” between mother and daughter allegedly occurred in 2019. The debt accumulated in the capital of Rio de Janeiro exceeds R$13 thousand.
