The singer Louis Tomlinson announced, this Tuesday (7), that it will use its three shows in Brazil to support the humanitarian campaign in favor of Rio Grande do Sul. The state is suffering from floods that have already left at least 95 people dead, according to the latest Civil Defense bulletin.

The former One Direction member also stated that he did donations to buy emergency supplies which will be delivered to the affected regions. On social media, he highlighted the request for non-perishable food, clothing, diapers, food, baby supplies and pet food.

“We have created collection areas that will be set up at the entrances to all three of my shows in Brazil, and I would like to invite anyone who attends over the next week to join us in this cause with anything they can donate,” said the artist. .

You collection points will be on the three stops of the “Faith in the Future World Tour” scheduled for Brazilian cities:

  • May 8 – Farmasi Arena, Rio de Janeiro
  • may 11 – Allianz Parque, São Paulo
  • may 12 – LIGGA Arena (CAP), Curitiba

“I’m sending all my love to the thousands of people in Rio Grande do Sul who were affected by the historic floods that hit the region recently. I am extremely grateful to be able to visit and perform in this beautiful country, and it is devastating to see how many lives have been so severely impacted,” said Louis Tomlinson.

Before arriving in Brazil, the tour has already visited Europe and the United States. The singer launched his solo career in 2020 and has already surpassed the historic mark of one billion streams on Spotify. The artist’s last visit to Brazil was in 2022, with the show “Walls”.

To the heavy rains in Rio Grande do Sul, which caused flooding and landslides across the state, has already left 95 people dead, according to a new official report released on Tuesday night (7). In total, 131 people are missing amid the disaster, which began to have serious impacts since April 29th.

The agency’s update also mentions that 131 people are missing and 372 injured.

The rains, however, had already started on the day April 27th, when municipalities in Vale do Rio Pardo also recorded hail and a heavy volume of precipitation. The most affected city was Santa Cruz do Sul, while in Porto Alegre more than 1,200 lightning strikes were recorded.
