A 48-year-old security guard for rapper Drake was shot this Tuesday, the 7th, near the singer’s mansion. The crime occurred at two in the morning, Toronto time (and four in the morning, Brasília time). According to witnesses, the man was shot several times, including one in the chest, as reported by the BBC. An investigator interviewed by the report still does not have a conclusion about the motivation for the crime.

“It’s too early in the investigation to say why. The teams are cooperating,” said Inspector Paul Krawczyk.
The speech is important because it occurs in the midst of a troubled phase experienced by the rapper. Drake is trading frequent accusations with another singer, Kendrick Lamar. The exchange of barbs has occurred in so-called “diss tracks”, a genre within rap in which songs are used to snipe at other singers. Lamar, for example, called Drake an absent father, a harasser and a pedophile. Police say they are aware of this dispute.
How’s the security?
The Canadian newspaper “Toronto Sun” says that the security guard was taken to Sunnybrook hospital and needed surgery. The condition is considered serious.
The Police also say that they have already had access to the site’s security cameras, but have not yet passed on much information to the North American press due to the poor quality of the video. What is known is that the criminals fled the scene using a car.
Images show that the area around Drake’s residence had to be isolated with yellow tape, so that the police could continue with their investigations.
