The event started early, around 6:15 pm, Sinistra’s super team took the stage. Formed by Nando Fernandes (vocals), Edu Ardanuy (guitar), Luís Mariutti (bass) and Rafael Rosa (drums), the band presented compositions from their only album, released in 2022. The first was “Mente Vazia” and Nando has already approached the public saying that he was happy to be in Porto Alegre after a long time, the last one being still with the Hangar. He also thanked the public for their presence and informed that they would be the second attraction of the night, but that they changed it to help Jelusick with his logistics. After “Livre Pra Seguir”, in vocal interaction with the audience, Nando joked, saying: “I heard good screams there, there is a vocalist in the audience.” Quite satisfied with the sound on stage, Nando asked the sound team, who had been working there since early in the morning, to applaud. “Boys and girls, be good, otherwise Jesus won’t call you. But if you don’t behave, you’ll have to do an internship at ‘Umbral'”, said Nando to present the composition. In a very uncomfortable situation, someone shouted: “play the nightcap”, and this could be heard by everyone, including the band. This made Nando ask who said it, and the person raised his hand, receiving many boos, which made the rest of the audience ask for more songs from the band. The last one was “O Ajante” and in farewell Nando thanked the audience for their support, asked for the classic photo of the stage with the musicians and audience and even with the fans asking for more songs, Nando said they would respect the festival’s schedule and would not play one more just for ego. The frontman announced that they will return to play the already released album in full and also new songs. It was a direct and pleasant presentation, the lights matched the dark atmosphere of the songs, highlighting Ardanuy’s virtuosity, Mariutti’s illustrious presence and Nando’s charisma and technical quality.

With just 20 minutes of interval, at 7:20 pm, it was Jelusick’s turn to start his show. The repertoire includes songs from the album “Follow the Blind Man”, released in 2023. Known for work with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Michael Romeo and Whitesnake, Dino Jelusick (vocals and keyboards) leads the group that also includes Ivan Keller (guitar ), Luka Broderick (bass) and Mario Lepoglavec (drums and vocals). The Croatians started with the heavy and catchy “Reign of Vultures” and “Acid Rain”. Dino said good night, asked how everyone was doing and said that his bandmates were amazing. Dino performed “The Healer” and then went to the keyboards to introduce the ballad “The Great Divide”. Very communicative and happy, Dino looked at the set-list and said: “Let’s see how many songs we have left… about 20… no, no, I’m kidding”, causing laughter throughout the venue. The last songs were the ones that received the biggest response from the fans present, who sang along to “What I Want” and “Fly High Again”. It was an incredible performance, even without being the main attraction and their first time in the city. Everyone had peace of mind to present the songs that flirt between hard rock and prog metal. The musicians’ virtuosity, stage presence and Dino’s vocal power and charisma pleased the fans and also those who were getting to know the group during the night.

Then it was time for Jeff Scott Soto, who performed twice in less than a week in Porto Alegre, as he did an acoustic show opening for Angra, the previous Saturday. This time without the guitars, Soto brought his full band to present the 40th anniversary tour. Those who accompanied the singer were the Brazilians BJ (guitar, keyboards and vocals), Leo Mancini (guitar), Henrique Canalle (bass) and Edu Cominato (drums). Right away, “Livin’ the Life” by Steel Dragon, a fictional band from the film Rock Star, whose vocals were recorded by Soto on some songs. At the beginning, Jeff already made the audience sing the chorus loudly along with him. The second moment had excerpts from “Warrior”, “Fool Fool” and “Cry of the Gypsy” by Axel Rudi Pell, a group that Jeff was part of between 1992 and 1997.

The frontman thanked everyone for their presence and the support of the bands Sinistra, Jelusick and himself, introducing himself as George Michael, providing laughter on stage and on the dancefloor. “It’s been 40 years since I started singing, the first songs being those of Yngwie Malmsteen. It’s very difficult to present so many songs that I recorded in these 40 years, so today we will play several medleys, a way to play more songs in less time. Now, a little bit of my solo career.”, said Jeff, who performed excerpts from “Eyes of Love”, “Look Inside Your Heart”, “Soul Divine”, “Take U Down” and “Drowning”.

In a good mood, Jeff introduced his band, calling BJ Billy Joel and Bon Jovi, Henrique “Babu”, Edu as the “quiet guy”, Léo – mentioning that he met him 20 years ago in São Paulo -, and called himself Paul Stanley when introducing himself. Jeff said that the time had come for “caipiroska”, a traditional Brazilian drink, and a separate show took place, with the drink receiving its own song, and Henrique asking the audience to sing the famous “vira, vira, vira” so that Jeff turned the glass over and he did, but slowly. The funniest part was when he received a second drink, but he said he wouldn’t drink it and left the glass on the drum stage.

The presentation continued with the medley of “Big Boys Don’t Cry”, “Watch the Fire”, “Learn to Live Again” and “One Love” by WET, a project in which Soto has been present since 2009, the year of the release of the first disco. Going back to the beginning of his career, Jeff performed the virtuoso “I Am a Viking” and “I’ll See the Light Tonight”, released in 1985 on Malmsteen’s “Marching Out” album. After much shouting and applause, Soto said: “You have no idea how difficult it is to sing these songs.” “Now a slow and calm ballad for you, look at who’s next to you… or rather, no” said the vocalist to present the (nothing) ballad “Stone Go Crazy”, starting the Queen medley, which also had ” The Prophet’s Song” and “Love of My Life” with the company of Leo Mancini only. At that moment, Jeff said that Léo is his favorite dog and mentioned Dino Jelusick as his favorite toy, generating more laughter from the audience. And an unusual event was when Dino appeared on the mezzanine in front of the stage and shared the vocals with Jeff.

With the return of the other musicians, it was the turn of “Alive”, by Sons of Apollo, and another medley, representing Talisman, a band formed by Soto and Marcel Jacob in 1989. From this phase, excerpts from “Break Your Chains” were presented. , “Day by Day”, “Give Me a Sign”, “Colour My XTC”, “Dangerous” and one of the most anticipated by Talisman fans: “Mysterious (This Time It’s Serious)”. Two covers, also recorded by Talisman, were present: “Frozen” by Madonna and “Crazy” by Seal, in extremely hard rock versions. After this sequence, Jeff looked for Dino in the audience and invited him to come on stage. Soon after, Dino appeared to participate in the next songs, the first of which was “I’ll Be Waiting”, also by Talisman. During the song, Jeff also called Nando Fernandes and said that he was very honored to share the stage with three great singers and divided the chorus of “I’ll Be Waiting” into five parts, starting with himself and going through Dino, Nando, BJ and the public. Near the end, a general mess took over the stage with the presence of Dino, Nando and Keller, who was also invited to join the stage. The whole crowd performed “Stand Up” by Steel Dragon and the last medley of the night, containing Disco Music classics such as “Play The Funky Music” (Wild Cherry), “Jungle Boogie” (Kool and the Gang), “Shake Your Booty ” (KC & the Sunshine Band), “Kung Fu Fighting” (Carl Douglas), “Macho Man” (Village People) among other hits from the 1970s and 1980s.

Soto and his band were magnificent throughout and the finale, bringing together the other musicians, was rich in quality and high spirits. Before leaving the stage, there was still time for Dino to play the drums and Nando to vent, saying that he decided to become a singer because of Jeff Scott Soto. All the bands made the time pass quickly, even with more than 4 hours of event in total.
