Rio – The 46-year-old announcer Vinicius Lima was buried this Thursday afternoon (25), at the Jardim de Mesquita Cemetery, in Baixada Fluminense. He died this Wednesday (24), at Copa D’Or Hospital, in Copacabana, South Zone of Rio, victim of cardiac arrest, days after being hospitalized again due to complications caused by pneumonia.

Vinicius de Sant’Anna Lima had been at Rádio Catedral (106.7 FM), a station linked to the Archdiocese of Rio, for 11 years. He commanded the schedule between 4pm and 9pm as announcer and operator, in addition to presenting the program ‘Ligação Direta’.

In a statement published on social media, the outlet lamented his death: “The Archdiocese of Rio, Rádio Catedral FM and WebTV Redentor join his family and friends in praying for his soul. Rest in peace, Vinicius.”

The professional also worked at Rádio Alerj, presenting the program ‘Manhã do Rio’ daily, from 9am to 1pm. The station also released a statement and highlighted the big voice of ‘Vinny’, as he was best known among friends, family and listeners.

During his career, Vinicius spent time on radio stations Roquette-Pinto and Canção Nova.
