The ninth and penultimate episode of the first season of X-Men 97′ is among us. The episode that features the mutants reorganizing themselves for the final confrontation aired this Wednesday (8) and brought some news. Before continuing, a warning: beware of spoilers!

In the episode, the team now led by Charles Xavier regroups and prepares to confront the two villains, Bastion and Magneto. To achieve this, the team receives new uniforms, as revealed in yesterday’s teaser. Nathan then gets his first blue and yellow uniform as a member of the team, but not before complaining about the colors. When he hears the question, Cyclops responds “What did you want? Black leather?”.

The joke, of course, references the uniforms from the 2000s trilogy, when mutants were brought to the cinema for the first time by Bryan Singer It is Brett Ratner. At the time, the Fox he preferred not to take risks with colors and gave the team black leather clothes with subtle colored details.

The new version continues where the 90s series left off, after the finale from the 5th season, aired in 1997. Beau DeMayo (The Witcher) served as showrunner of the first season.
