Disney has released the second trailer for the series “The Acolyte”, the next attraction in the “Star Wars” universe, which introduces the Sith, great villains from the universe created by George Lucas, revealing how they managed to infiltrate the Jedi. The preview highlights “Round 6” star Lee Jung-jae as a Jedi master who leads his apprentices against a new threat that is killing Force knights. During the confrontation, the sinister figure appears for the first time in his masked version , with a profile similar to that of Darth Vader when he arrived on the scene.
Created by Leslye Headland (the creator of “Russian Doll” on Netflix), the attraction follows the fall of a young padawan, played by Amandla Stenberg (“Death! Death! Death!”), who chooses to follow the dark side of the Force .
The plot takes place during the Republic era, but before the events of “The Phantom Menace”, Chapter 1 of the franchise, and also features in its cast Dafne Keen (“Logan”), Manny Jacinto (“The Good Place” ), Jodie Turner-Smith (“Queen & Slim”), Rebecca Henderson (“Inventing Anna”), Charlie Barnett (“Russian Doll”), Dean-Charles Chapman (“1917”) and Carrie-Anne Moss (“The Matrix” ).
The series premieres on June 4th on Disney+.
