Star Wars originally hit theaters in 1977, becoming a huge success that is still celebrated today
Every year, on May 4th, fans of the iconic saga created by George Lucas celebrate Star Wars Day. The date was chosen in reference to the pun “May the 4th”, which resembles the most famous phrase in the saga “May the Force be with you”, or “May the Force be with you”.
This year, the celebrations will be even more special, as the date coincides with the 25th anniversary of “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace”, which premiered in American cinemas on May 16, 1999.

With this, the film will return to cinemas for special screenings in 224 theaters across Brazil, throughout the weekend. And it doesn’t stop there, fans will be able to follow special events that will take place across the country, check out the schedule.
São Paulo – Product launch and cosplay contest
On the 4th and 5th, a themed event will take place at the Alienware Training Facility Brasil, home of the e-Sports organization Team Liquid, at Av. Angélica, 903 – Santa Cecilia. Open to the public, the initiative will see the launch of the new Star Wars Team Liquid collection, with shirts, jackets, hats, water bottles and other items, as well as a new line of Panasonic products. There will also be a challenge that entitles you to Disney and Fortnite giveaways, as well as discount coupons.
On the 4th, at 8:30 pm, there will be a cosplay meeting at the Cidade São Paulo shopping mall, at Av. Paulista, 1230. There will be a Star Wars projection on the facade of the building, promoted in partnership between Dinsney and Ri Happy, who invite fans to break the record for the largest gathering of Star Wars cosplayers in Brazil.
Salvador – Jedi Council costume party
This Saturday, the Bahia Jedi Council will hold the third edition of May the 4th Party, at the 30 Segundos Bar concert hall, in Rio Vermelho. The organizers invite fans to come dressed as their favorite characters from the saga. Tickets are on sale from R$30. Entry is prohibited for minors under 18 years of age, unless they are accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
Sale of products throughout Brazil
More than 200 stores, physical and online, will promote initiatives to celebrate Star Wars Day. In physical stores across the country, the public will be able to make their own personalized caricature inspired by the Star Wars universe. Participating brands include Bumerang, Coleciona, Dream Store, FanLab, Lego, PB Kids, Ri Happy, Sam Club and Superlegal. Piticas will offer two exclusive posters for anyone who purchases two products from the franchise.
