In a national analysis of dengue cases released yesterday afternoon (8), the Ministry of Health placed Mato Grosso do Sul among the states that leave the peak period behind and tend towards a positive scenario of decline in the coming weeks.
The mapping of the federal portfolio only puts Mato Grosso on the radar for a possible increase. The scenario in Ceará, Maranhão, Pará and Tocantins tends towards stability in the number of cases.
The other 21 states have the same prospect of a decline in the number of cases that Mato Grosso do Sul has.
Peak – According to the Ministry, the report shows that 24 of the 27 federation units have passed the peak, but this does not mean that Brazil does not continue to face an epidemic of the disease.
“It is difficult, however, to analyze Brazil as a whole because each state has different dynamics. Once the peak has passed, it does not mean that epidemics in the affected states have already passed, because there are still cases being registered”, explained the director of the Department of Strategic Health Surveillance Coordination, Guilherme Werneck.
State bulletin – The latest epidemiological bulletin for Mato Grosso do Sul was also released yesterday, by the State Department of Health.
He did not provide information about new deaths from dengue. The official number of deaths remains at 18. Another 11 are under investigation.
The incidence of suspected cases per 100 thousand inhabitants is high in 48 cities in Mato Grosso do Sul, however. The border region remains the most critical.
