Pernambuco industry has new leadership from 2024 to 2028: find out who it is

Pernambuco’s industry has new leadership. Businessman Bruno Veloso was the name chosen to assume the presidency of Fiepe, the state federation of the manufacturing sector, in the 2024-2028 biennium. The unanimous decision of the 32 voting unions took place this Thursday (9), in an election at Casa da Indústria, in the Santo Amaro neighborhood, in the center of Recife.

With this result, the current president, Ricardo Essinger, leaves office after two consecutive terms and remains, together with Veloso, as a representative delegate on the Council of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI).

Pernambuco Industry: who is the new president of Fiepe?

Born in Recife in 1959, Bruno Veloso graduated in civil engineering from the Catholic University. Partner of the concrete industry Goiana Precast, founded the company in 1998after having worked for large construction companies in the state.

Veloso arrived at Fiepe after having joined the Pernambuco Cement Products Industry Union (Sinprocim-PE), formerly Sindocal, 15 years ago. He presided over the entity for two terms. His career at Fiepe includes the administrative and financial directorships during the terms of Jorge Côrte Real and Ricardo Essinger. He was also an advisor to SESI-PE.

“I feel honored and happy to have been chosen by my peers to represent the industrial sector in the coming years. I can guarantee that the trust placed in me will be reciprocated with work in defense of our segment, with the certainty that we will do everything possible to continue the projects built so far”, he stated.

He also added that “Ricardo Essinger was an example of integrity, rectitude and management”. “So, inspired by the example of my predecessor, We want to continue what is being done and also build new initiatives“, he said.

Essinger praises successor in leadership of Pernambuco industry

According to Essinger, Bruno Veloso has always been an active businessman in defense of the needs of the sector and sees the choice of his name as natural, due to his trajectory within the Fiepe System.

“It is important to highlight that renovation is part of this house, and Bruno has always been committed and attentive to the demands of the sector. I am sure he will do an excellent job”, he highlighted.

What changes in Pernambuco’s main industry institution?

With the election of Bruno Veloso, the other members of his ticket also assume directorships. Massimo Cadorin will be the 1st vice-president; José Antônio de Lucas Simón, the 2nd vice-president and Renato Cunha becomes the 3rd vice-president.

The other vice-presidents of the ticket are businessmen Alexandre Valença, Alfredo Salazar, Anísio Coelho, João Bezerra, Luiz Grimaldi, Milton Reis, Paulo Pereira and Renato Celso.

Sebastião Pontes will be the 1st Administrative Director and Ricardo Heráclio the 2nd. As 1st and 2nd Financial Directors, Caroline Souto Maior and Hugo Gonçalves were elected respectively.

Armando Monteiro Neto and Jorge Côrte Real, with the current election, will occupy positions as alternate delegates at the Council of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI).

What is Fiepe?

The Federation of Industries of the State of Pernambuco (Fiepe) was created with the aim of promoting the development of local industry, contributing to business improvement and improving regional and national socioeconomic conditions.

Since 1939, when the institution was founded by industrialist Joseph Tourton, it has achieved a strong and integrated union base, made up of 34 unions from different industrial segments.

At 85 years old, the entity is currently part of the Fiepe System, made up of four other institutions: Social Service of Industry of Pernambuco (Sesi), National Service of Industrial Learning of Pernambuco (Senai), Instituto Euvaldo Lodi of Pernambuco (IEL-PE) and Center for Industries of the State of Pernambuco (Ciepe).
