Agricultural entities in the Matopiba region are also mobilizing to send donations to the population of Rio Grande do Sul. In western Bahia, a large mobilization organized by the Luis Eduardo Magalhães Rural Producers Union (SPRLEM) is being carried out to help affected families.
The tafera force is also mobilizing other institutions in the western region of Bahia. The sorting and separation of donations is done by volunteers on the sports court at Colégio Mimoso do Oeste in Luis Eduardo Magalhães (BA).
“We have a large group of patriots, people who are here working, mobilizing, receiving donations, sorting and loading the trucks so that we can send this donation to Rio Grande do Sul. There are several entities that are involved In this collection, we have churches, schools, the union, among others”, explains Greice Kelli Fontana Klein, president of the entity.
Gaúcha, like many residents of the municipality, believes that solidarity supports and minimizes the suffering of the affected population.
“We are really here, trying to do a little to ease the pain of our brothers in Rio Grande do Sul and we ask that you, if you are able, also show solidarity and make a donation, whether in service or in material or even in pix. Our brothers in Rio Grande do Sul are going through a great tragedy and we really need to do something concrete to reduce this suffering”, he points out.
Solidarity across the country is manifested in Matopiba, where decades ago, many rural producers from Rio Grande do Sul found hope in these lands, and today, from afar, they contribute as much as they can.
“And today we are able to serve several regions of Rio Grande do Sul. My mother’s family is all from Encantado, Arroio do Meio, so we are in contact with everyone to always look for a better method of serving people . This work together here is something very special for all of us, being able to do this for the people of Rio Grande do Sul.”, comments Kenni Henke, businessman and secretary of agriculture for Luis Eduardo Magalhães.
The Agriculture and Livestock Federations of Tocantins (Faet), Maranhão (Faema) and Bahia (Faeb) are also providing support.
“The federation and the entire Faet-CNA System expresses solidarity with the families who have suffered from these serious floods that have occurred in the state. In view of this, Faet decided to launch a campaign to collect donations, non-perishable food or water, which today is what these families need most. We also support the campaign of the Agriculture Federation of Rio Grande do Sul (Farsul)”, comments Luiz Cláudio Faria, institutional director of the Faet/Senar System.
Carlos Antônio Feitosa de Sá, vice-president of Faema said that the entity’s communication channels are disseminating Farsul’s pix key to union presidents, technicians and instructors and society as a whole.
“We ask you to help in this way the population that is currently experiencing difficulties due to the flood catastrophe”, he sympathizes.
The Bahia Soy Producers Association (Aprosoja-Ba) is also running a campaign on social media.

Institutional help
The Western Bahia Fire Department is also collecting supplies such as water, non-perishable food and personal hygiene products in Barreiras and Luis Eduardo Magalhães.
Furthermore, the Government of Bahia sent 22 firefighters to Rio Grande do Sul with experience in emergency situations resulting from natural disasters.
According to the Bahia Fire Department, the Bahian military saved 212 people, 20 animals and rescued 6 bodies until this Thursday (9).
