Initially, the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI), organizer of the competition, does not indicate no possibility of reopening registrations. The CNU notices also do not provide this prerogative.

The Unified National Competition has 2,144,435 confirmed subscribers for mid- and higher-level positions.

Based on recent competitions, when the application of the test is postponed, the bodies do not open a new period for registration. Only those who have already applied remain in the selection process and can take the exams on the new date.

A similar situation happened in the competition for a soldier in the Rio de Janeiro Military Police, for example. The tests, scheduled for August 2023, were suspended due to irregularities and rescheduled for April this year.

A new deadline for registration has not been opened. Only the 100,000 people who had already registered were able to take the tests.

In parallel, many competitions open the possibility of refund of registration fee for those who do not wish to remain in the selection with the new test date.

When questioned, the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services informed the reporter that the cases subject to reimbursement are for problems that occurred during the administration of the tests.

The ministry also stated that “for now no one can request it, as no one has been harmed”.

In a poll carried out on Folha’s social networks Directed by Qconcursos, of the more than 500 people who gave their opinion, 70% agreed with the postponement of the tests, 15% didn’t like it and another 15% said “it doesn’t matter”.

According to the Federal Government, the decision to postpone was taken so that all registrants could take the tests under the same conditions across the country.

“The 15% who didn’t like it, studied, didn’t learn anything from a notice that talks about ethics, citizenship, democracy, inclusion, public policies and so on”, said a candidate after the poll results were released.

Another participant also agreed that the most important thing is to give the necessary attention to the population of Rio Grande do Sul.

“Right now, more important than holding a contest is taking care of a people who don’t have the basics to survive such as drinking water, food, shelter and clothing. It was more than right to postpone.”

According to Folha Directed by Qconcursos, the Federal Government analyzes the exams rescheduled for August 18th.
