The edition of Pint of Science in Maceió will be coordinated by professor Klaysa Ramos, from Uncisal. The objective is to attract people interested in learning more about the scientific universe, providing debates in simple language that is accessible to the public. The event will be held in two bars in the city, Toca do Calango and El Porteño Pub, with themes such as “Physics like you’ve never seen it”, “Don’t believe in us, believe in science” and “The mind that floats: the limits of mental health”.
According to Klaysa Ramos, the program in Maceió will be more focused on the health area, but will also feature debates on physics, showing its practical application in everyday life. The researchers will provide information based on solid scientific evidence, aiming to demystify some fake news about health and promote knowledge.
Pint of Science is a free event open to the public, where participants can choose the topics of their interest and attend the locations where the lectures will take place. There is no need to register in advance and there will be no admission charge, paying only for what is consumed in the establishments. The full event schedule can be accessed on the official website.
In addition to the scientific activities, Pint of Science in Maceió will also have a campaign to collect mineral water to be sent to Rio Grande do Sul. During the three days of the festival, participants will be able to contribute by taking donations to the bars. At the end of the event, proceeds will be collected and sent to those in need.
In this way, Uncisal is placing Alagoas once again on the global scientific dissemination circuit, providing a favorable environment for the dissemination of knowledge and the exchange of experiences between researchers and the interested public. Pint of Science promises to be another opportunity to bring science closer to society, in a dynamic and accessible way.
