The action will serve the municipalities of Uruoca and Jijoca de Jericoacoara

With the aim of strengthening the identity of Ceará’s crafts and ensuring access to services for artisans from across the State, the Secretariat of Social Protection (SPS) promotes a new edition of the CeArt Itinerante project. The services will take place between the 8th and 10th of this month, benefiting artisans from the municipalities of Uruoca and Jijoca de Jericoacoara.

An SPS initiative, through the Ceará Crafts Center (CeArt), the project brings different services into the municipalities, in order to expand the service and professionalization of artisans. “It’s a visit we make to municipalities to issue, register, monitor skills tests, workshops, lectures, and show how we work at CeArt here, so that artisans are aware of these benefits and can increasingly guarantee these benefits with the registration”, highlights the SPS crafts development coordinator, Germana Mourão.

On Wednesday (8) and Thursday (9), the municipality of Uruoca will host the action, which will include registration and renewal of artisanal identities; workshops; parts certification and guidelines. The action will take place in the morning and afternoon, respectively. The project continues on Thursday afternoon, in Jijoca de Jericoacoara, where it will remain until Friday morning (10).

By issuing artisanal identities, SPS recognizes the legitimacy of craftsmanship and brings benefits such as exemption from the Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) on the sale of products, training in free courses to improve and update techniques, and accommodation at Casa do Artesão Cearense, in Fortaleza.

Artisans already registered with the Sustainable and Inclusive Craft Development Program must present their artisan identity. Those who have not yet registered must come with the necessary documentation (RG, CPF and proof of residence), a ready-made product in the type and technique in which they intend to register and with material to carry out the skill test, which is the in-person production of the product from the beginning.

Since 2021, CeArt Itinerante has covered 30 municipalities in Ceará. Among them are Camocim, Itarema, Salitre, Barbalha, Aracati, Itarema, Amontada, Brejo Santo and Iguatu.
