In the afternoon, at the headquarters of the Wholesale Trade Union of Rondônia (Singaro), the seminar on Commercial Opportunities between the Border States of Peru and Brazil was held, opened by the Peruvian ambassador to Brazil, Rómulo Acurio, who, in welcoming the present, reaffirmed the interests among Andean countries in strengthening exports and imports. Julio Gasparelo, president of Singaro, spoke on behalf of businesspeople in the North Region.

The head of Seict, Assurbanípal Mesquita, at the invitation of Promperu, opened the lectures with the panel Business Actions in Acre to Boost the Interoceanic Corridor, defending a new vision of the state of Acre, “which has always been seen as the end of the route”, addressing existing opportunities in border cities, connections and transport modes that link the Atlantic to the Pacific.

“We have, within a radius of 750 km, millions of consumers. The world is moving towards relations between Asia and the Pacific, and Brazilian production is moving towards states in the Central-West and North. In this context, Rondônia, Acre and Mato Grosso have increasingly stood out. We joined together with the support of legislative assemblies, associations and federations, in promoting our routes and product portfolio, seeking to strengthen foreign trade”, analyzed Mesquita.

The general director of the Peruvian Trade Office in Brazil (Promperu Brasil), Silvia Seperack, spoke about trade opportunities with Peru, presenting the results of the Peruvian trade balance and the economic feasibility study of the interoceanic corridor.

And she once again defended the exit to the Pacific via BR-364, via Mâncio Lima, the route that connects Acre to the Pacific ports via Pucallpa. Also participating in the agenda were the director of Industry at Seict, Albert Azenha, the director of Customs Affairs at ZPE, Marcos Morais, and the representative of the Technical Chamber of Foreign Trade, businessman Alejandro Salinas.
