SOUTH FLUMINENSE

The Industrial Development Company of the State of Rio de Janeiro begins this month a new project to serve entrepreneurs and public managers in Rio de Janeiro: Codin Incentiva, which will take the Company’s specialized technical structure to municipalities in the state, to present business opportunities in the territory fluminense, services and clarify doubts. The first city to be visited will be Três Rios, in the Center-South of Fluminense, on the 15th and 16th of May. The public from across the region will be able to participate in the program, which will take place in the JR Contabilidade auditorium, at Rua Nelson Viana 652, Centro de Três Rios.

– Rio de Janeiro is a state with the most diverse business opportunities and Codin Incentiva meets entrepreneurs to present them and make life easier for those who want to open their business here. By encouraging and strengthening entrepreneurship, we will attract more investments to our state and, as a result, we will have more jobs and income for the population of Rio de Janeiro – highlights governor Cláudio Castro.

Each city will have a special program, created according to local economic vocations and aimed at businesspeople and public managers in the region. The areas covered will be chosen through a technical assessment, integrated into the Codin database. The event will be taken to a municipality in the state every month, will include two days of work, and will be aimed at clarifying and informing entrepreneurs about the opportunities that exist in each region, with a view to attracting new ventures, in addition to reporting on the progress of processes. Until August this year, Codin Incentiva will be taken to four municipalities: Três Rios, Queimados, Itaperuna and São João da Barra.

– This project will be an opportunity to convey our methodologies, the criteria we evaluate in companies’ requests for tax incentives, and also to emphasize the transparency with which we work. We will launch the project in Três Rios, a city that has a strong entrepreneurial tradition, and we will count on the participation of businesspeople and public managers from across the region – explains the president of Codin, Fábio Picanço.

Codin Incentiva was inspired by the Desenvolvimento RJ program, created by the state secretary of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Vinícius Farah, to help cities in Rio de Janeiro find paths to economic growth.

– Codin is the gateway for investors in the state. Taking the Company’s specialized team to entrepreneurs in the various regions of Rio de Janeiro expands the logistical support that is already offered at the institution’s headquarters and through its communication channels. These are services that, in 2023, increased the number of industrial companies interested in setting up in the State of Rio by 33%, compared to 2022 – stated Farah.
