In a draw, MPAM defines opening duels of the 20th edition of the Mock Jury

Event takes place from June 3rd to 7th with the presence of 60 law academics from ten universities

Scheduled for the period from June 3 to 7, the 20th edition of the Simulated Jury of the Public Ministry of the State of Amazonas (MPAM), organized by the Center for Studies and Functional Improvement (Ceaf), had its key defined this Wednesday (08 /05). Representatives of the ten universities, which will take part in this year’s simulation, participated in the draw, held in the Gebes de Mello Medeiros auditorium.

Each team will have six law students, three main and three substitutes, totaling 60 competitors from ten universities.

At the end, the three best teams will be awarded medals, trophies and cash prizes, with values ​​between R$1,400 and R$3,000. There will also be prizes for individual highlights. “The MPAM Mock Jury is a unique opportunity to exchange experiences, it is a milestone in the lives of these law students, as they prepare for future challenges”, said MPAM Attorney General, Alberto Rodrigues do Nascimento Júnior.

The MPAM Mock Jury is considered one of the most traditional in Amazonas. The 2024 edition pays homage to the prosecutor, writer and former sports announcer Nicolau Libório dos Santos Filho.

For the head of Ceaf, prosecutor João Gaspar Rodrigues, the Mock Jury is a social inclusion program that increasingly brings the Public Ministry closer to higher education. “In addition, we establish a symbiosis between practice and theory with these future professionals. There are judges, prosecutors and lawyers who participated in mock juries and remember it with great satisfaction, as an important moment in their student and professional lives”, he added.

This year, students from the Federal University of Amazonas (Ufam), the State University of Amazonas (UEA), the Universidade Paulista (Unip), the Nilton Lins University, the Escola Superior Batista do Amazonas (Esbam) will participate in the MPAM simulation. , the Amazon Institute of Higher Education (Iames), the Centro Universitário do Norte (UniNorte), the Centro Universitário Fametro and the Santa Teresa and La Salle Colleges.

Last year, Uninorte won the competition title, followed by Martha Falcão in 2nd and Fametro in 3rd.
