Botafogo hosts LDU (Ecuador), starting at 9:30 pm (Brasília time) this Wednesday (8) at the Nilton Santos stadium, in a fundamental game to define its future in the Copa Libertadores da América. A National Radio broadcasts the confrontation live.ebc.gif?id=1593918&o=node

Occupying the bottom of Group D of the continental competition with just three points, Alvinegro needs to win to continue with a real chance of qualifying for the round of 16. However, General Severiano’s team faces an opponent to which they have already lost in this edition of the Libertadores (1-0 in a match played in Quito).

Furthermore, the team led by Portuguese coach Arthur Jorge will have to deal with frustration at the end of a positive sequence in the Brazilian Championship, after the 2-1 defeat to Bahia last Sunday (5) at home.

LDU arrives at the clash in good shape. After the confrontation with Botafogo in the 2nd round of the Libertadores Group stage, the team led by Spanish coach Josep Alcácer played five consecutive matches (with one defeat, one draw and three wins).

However, the Ecuador team will have to deal with the absence of important players: midfielder Sebastian González, goalkeeper Gonzalo Valle and defender Richard Mina.
