The psychologist says that the advantage is being close to her parents at that moment, which leaves her with a calm heart.
Psychologist Deniandra Reis, 45 years old, and her 1-year-old son have been “islanded” in her parents’ house since April 27th in the city of Pelotas, in Rio Grande do Sul. During the afternoon of this Tuesday (7th) , Deniandra told the reporter that the return to Campo Grande is not even planned yet due to the tragedy that surrounds the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
To the Campo Grande News, the psychologist said that the return flight was scheduled for the 4th of this month, but due to bad weather it was rescheduled for the 11th of May. “But yesterday the airports suspended all activities and there is no way for me to return to Campo Grande, and there is no way to go by bus either because the roads are all closed,” she said.
To show the situation in the city, Deniandra sent a video to the report showing the street of the building where she is staying. Water is already entering the city.
Deniandra explained that the municipality is not yet completely taken over by the flood, but the water is coming slowly. “My city is bathed by Lagoa dos Patos, so the water from Guaíba is all coming to Lagoa dos Patos. My region here is on red alert. And that is my concern, so much so that Civil Defense ordered nine neighborhoods to evacuate , because the water should arrive today, at night, at the latest, tomorrow, or in the early hours of the morning”, he reported.
“The situation is sad, it’s an endless sadness, there’s no electricity, internet signal goes back and forth, TV signal, things like that go back and forth, the water hasn’t run out yet because the building has a water tank”, said Deniandra .
The psychologist says that she needs to get back to her routine, as she is away from home for many days, and the dogs are under the care of a pet shop, but what gives her peace of mind is that the parents are well. “I’m with them, I can help them with whatever they need, because they are two elderly people and they need help,” she said.
