After a year of negotiation between representatives of Companhia Açucareira Vale do Ceará-mirim and eighty workers from the company, an agreement was reached, in an execution process, which had already lasted sixteen years between the parties. The information was released by the Regional Labor Court of the 21st Region (Rio Grande do Norte) on Monday (6).
In this last agreement, the professionals received R$4,228,652.26 out of a total of R$7,238,892.15 paid by Companhia Açucareira to the eighty claimants, former employees of the company, which was acquired by Ceará businessman Manoel Dias Branco, in 2009. .
Negotiations began during the National Conciliation Week of 2023, at the Judicial Center for Conflict Resolution and Citizenship (CEJUSC), an opportunity in which an agreement was approved with the Public Ministry of Labor and with several claimants, triggering the finalization of the agreement with 21 former employees of the company, who were not present in the first round of negotiations.
Several sessions were held mediated by judge Fátima Christiane, who works at Cejusc 2nd degree and has always believed in “the realization of this emblematic conciliation”. The judge celebrated the result: “This is an emblematic process of CEJUSC, because it seemed almost impossible to resolve. It took a while, but we got it done.”
