Copasa will provide assistance in Rio Grande do Sul

Twenty-two employees of the Minas Gerais Sanitation Company (Copasa) – including technicians and engineers – travel to Rio Grande do Sul to help restore regular supply in that state, which has been devastated by rain. Seventeen of them are already in RS and five will embark this Monday morning (6).

According to the president of Copasa, Guilherme Duarte, employees will work:

  • Reestablishment of water treatment plants;
  • Electromechanical and hydraulic maintenance;
  • Repair of electrical panels and control panels – responsible for distributing electricity between equipment;
  • Repair of motor pump sets – pumping units.

Still according to Duarte, The employees will stay in the state of Rio Grande do Sul for as long as necessary and, to this end, there may be rotations and the sending of more professionals.

In addition to labor support, Copasa also forwarded 1.3 thousand boxes with glasses of drinking water, what are they equivalent to 18 thousand liters.

Cemig sends helicopter to help in Rio Grande do Sul

The Minas Gerais Energy Company (Cemig) sent a helicopter to assist the distributor RGE of Rio Grande do Sul in the inspection of the electrical network.

The aircraft departed Minas Gerais last Friday (3) with a pilot and an aircraft maintenance technician. The helicopter remains indefinitely to carry out overflights, as required by RGE.

Cemig has two helicopters at its disposal, which are used to transport technicians and materials, especially in areas that are difficult to access, in addition to more easily inspecting the distribution system. The other aircraft is ready for service in the concession area in Minas Gerais.
