The lack of a varicella vaccine, better known as chicken pox, directly affects the regional community. One example is Manuel Felipe Gonçalves, who reported this Monday, 6th, on the Bote a Boca no Trombone program on Rádio Menina, that he has been waiting for the vaccine for five months.
According to Manuel, the information he received was that he needed to wait for the call to carry out the application and that he also had no professional in the area at the Basic Health Unit (UBS) in the neighborhood where he lives.
“They tell us that this vaccine comes in small quantities and that they will call, but they never call and we don’t even have information. We’ve been to the Santa Regina polyclinic and health center six times and nothing,” he adds.
The Secretary of Health of Camboriú, Elisama Freitas, in response to the community’s demand, explains that the vaccine is sent by the State Department of Health and is in short supply. As for the lack of professionals for application, the secretary said this does not occur. “In all vaccination units, there are professionals working. We are without the vaccine due to lack of it in the state”
According to Graziella Teixeira, from Clínica de Vaccinas Curumim, in the private network it costs R$ 300.00. However, with the lack of the Unified Health System (SUS), there are only 15 units for anyone to look for.
Another report was from Itajaí listener, Álvaro. According to him, there is also a lack of the vaccine in the city. The information he received is that he should arrive this Monday, the 6th, at the health center he went to, but only 12 will be available.
