Health plans gained more than 800 thousand users in one year, shows research released this Monday (6) by the National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS). Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo were the states that received the most beneficiaries in absolute numbers, in the comparison between March 2023 and 2024.
Last year, the territory of Minas Gerais had 5,548,168 users in medical assistance plans and, now, 5,718,796, an increase of 3%.
In Brazil, in the comparison between March this year and February 2024, there was an increase of 152,393 new plans.
In the case of exclusively dental plans, there were 2,207,213 beneficiaries in one year, although there was a drop of 68,097 in the comparison between March this year and the previous month.
In March 2024, the sector registered 51,035,365 users in medical assistance and 32,734,438 in exclusively dental plans.
In relation to dentistry, 26 federative units registered growth in the annual comparison, with São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Paraná being the states with the biggest gain in absolute numbers.
