More than a certificate of completion, the training programs of the Government of the Federal District (GDF) seek to help participants embark on successful paths in the job market. This is the objective of the Profissionalisa program, which offers courses in cultural production, professional makeup and braiding techniques for people in vulnerable situations.

Registration ends this Monday (6), and the first classes of the course, lasting three months, begin activities next week. Young people aged 16 and over and adults living in all regions of the Federal District can register. Classes will be taught at the Núcleo Bandeirante House of Culture.

The initiative by the Secretariat for Economic Development, Labor and Income of the Federal District (Sedet), in partnership with the Saber Amar Institute (ISA), is aimed at residents of vulnerable communities and has priority vacancies for women, black people, members of the LGBTQIAPN+ community and people with disabilities.

Registration is open on the Sedet website.

Students will receive transportation assistance, uniforms, teaching materials for each course and snacks during class breaks.

“We are increasingly seeking to insert excluded people into the job market, through professional qualification”

Thales Mendes, Secretary of Economic Development, Labor and Income

Training and monitoring

According to the head of Sedet, Thales Mendes, the program is fundamental to transforming the lives of DF citizens through professional relocation. The proposal is to invest in qualifications as an effective means of facing market challenges and promoting economic and social inclusion.

“As a way of combating unemployment, we are increasingly seeking to insert excluded people into the job market, through professional qualification. We focus on groups of vulnerable people who have greater difficulty integrating. This inclusive qualification brings back equality in the competition for a job”, argues the secretary.

“Our aim is to ensure that people take a course with employability as much as possible”

Douglas Menezes, director of the Saber Amar Institute

Throughout the period, students will take classes focused on technical knowledge in the areas in which they enrolled, as well as participate in vocational lectures and practical activities with partners in the job market.

Director of ISA, Douglas Menezes explains that the proposal is entirely designed to facilitate their access to job vacancies, from the choice of courses offered, to the curriculum: “Our intention is to try as much as possible for people to take a course with employability , build from the beginning a training that allows them to allocate them to market demand to start acting”.

In addition, students will receive professional support from the institute for the six months following the end of the course. “We monitor students to keep our network strengthened and provide assistance to start their journey”, highlights Menezes.
