Eight people were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and torturing a real estate agent, in a luxury condominium, in the city of Vespasiano, in Greater BH. The information was passed on by the Civil Police of Minas Gerais (PCMG) this Monday (6).
According to the institution, the crime happened at the beginning of April, and it was the victim herself who went to a police station to report the case.
“They lured her to the house of one of the people who were arrested, claiming that she had another property to sell. When she got there, her freedom was restricted and attacks began, such as cutting her hair. She spent 6 to 7 hours suffering these attacks”, said delegate Rodrigo Bustamante.
Five women and three men were temporarily arrested on suspicion of participating in the kidnapping. Among them, a young man involved in drug trafficking. The arrests took place in the neighborhoods of Mônaco, Názia II and the Alphaville condominium, in the cities of Vespasiano and Lagoa Santa.
According to investigations, the real estate broker received a deposit before closing the rental contract and was supposed to return the money to the clients at the end of the term. The attacks would have happened because payment was not made as agreed.
A PCMG also reported that, during the kidnapping, the suspects even asked R$60 thousand for the rescue of the woman.
The police said they will request an analysis of the financial movements of the victim and those arrested to find out where the money came from. The broker has a history of embezzlement.
The reporting team contacted the Regional Council of Real Estate Brokers of Minas Gerais (Creci-MG) and is awaiting feedback.
