Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks) announced that the entity and its associated banks (Itaú, Bradesco, Santander, BTG Pactual, Banco do Brasil and Caixa) have so far donated R$ 6 million to assist in helping residents of Rio Grande do Sul , victims of the flood that devastates the State.

The banks also adopted several business initiatives to alleviate the suffering situation in the region, such as pausing payments and renegotiating debts, releasing the FGTS calamity withdrawal, aid actions for employees and families in the region, opening agencies to receive donations. and the reinforcement of guidelines for institutions’ insurance teams to serve the local population as well.

“Febraban and its associated banks express deep regret to the victims of the historic rains that hit Rio Grande do Sul, express solidarity with the families affected by the catastrophe and join the efforts of the authorities to provide emergency assistance to the population”, writes and the entity . “This support is in addition to other donations from the banking sector to victims of the floods in Rio Grande do Sul that occurred in 2023, when more than R$4 million were donated to help rescue residents.”
