Lawyer cites “media repercussion” around crime and security as arguments for request. According to Marzagão, he will go to the forum on Monday (6) to make the request and talk to the judge or sector responsible for the possible process of referring Fernando to P2 in Tremembé.
Fernando was ready to comply with the judicial order of imprisonment, claims the defender. However, the lawyer highlighted to the reporter that, after the decision, he asked his client to “wait” and, then, the Civil Police decided to look for him on Saturday. Marzagão spoke to UOL who was not contacted by the authorities to schedule a possible conversation about handing over the driver.
“I think his profile [Fernando] is Tremembé”, says the lawyer. According to the defender, the conversation with the Judiciary is also a way of getting the businessman to hand himself over to the police without the situation being “too much of a media story”. He also informed that the defense will appeal the court decision to arrest the driver.
So he [Fernando] is willing [a se entregar], it is okay. (…) So, I just want the guarantee of his physical integrity. I’m going to go to the forum first to talk, just to have a safe place because I don’t think it’s possible to [o Fernando] go to a normal prison.
Lawyer Jonas Marzagão, Fernando’s defender, to UOL
