A man was killed during a confrontation with police officers from the Shock Battalion (BPCHQ) of the Mato Grosso do Sul Military Police, this Friday (3), in Rochedo, 61 kilometers from Campo Grande. Rosinaldo Ferreira dos Santos, aged 42, had several police experience and was a fugitive from justice.

According to the Shock Battalion, an anonymous tip led a team from the unit to a farm, where Rosinaldo was hiding. He was armed and riding a motorcycle without a helmet when he was approached. According to police, the suspect resisted, accelerated the motorcycle and began shooting at the officers.

As he tried to escape, he ended up falling, but continued shooting. The military retaliated and Rosinaldo was hit. A knife was also found with him, in addition to the revolver and several ammunition. The suspect was rescued and taken to a hospital in Rochedo, but he succumbed to his injuries and died.

Residents of the region reported to the Choque team that Rosinaldo had been living in the region for at least two months.

The case was registered at the Rochedo Police Station as resistance, illegal possession of a restricted firearm, attempted murder against military personnel and murder resulting from opposition to police intervention.
