Praça do Relógio do Sol, in the Brasília Botanical Garden, will be the stage for the 2nd edition of Brasília Zen – Strengthening Body and Mind, an event that promises to bring opportunities for choice and well-being to women of all ages. The initiative by the Women’s Secretariat (SMDF) in partnership with the social organization Vem Ser will be held on the 11th and 12th of May, in celebration of Mother’s Day, with free access.

Focusing on inclusion and inner strengthening, Brasília Zen will offer 12 workshops and 6 lectures on topics such as courage, behavior change and physical practices such as tai chi chuan and pilates. In addition, participants will be able to learn about the care of medicinal plants and orchids, in addition to enjoying an 800-meter sensory walk through the cerrado, led by experts.

Special emphasis will be given to women victims of violence who are part of SMDF projects. The Secretary for Women, Giselle Ferreira, reinforced that the initiative is a way of assisting women in different areas. “We are seeking to strengthen women, providing a space for self-knowledge, balance and well-being. We want them to feel welcomed and empowered to face everyday challenges with more serenity and determination,” she said.

With an estimated audience of 2,000 people over the two-day event, Brasília Zen will also feature a Rural Fair in partnership with the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of the Federal District (Emater-DF), with 15 rural producers who will hold an exhibition . The action will also feature the oriental drum group Daiko, which will close the event with music. Registration is free and can now be done on the event website.
