The Consumer Protection Institute (Procon-AM) releases this Friday (03/04) the weekly fuel price survey in the city, in line with Law No. 8,078/90 of the Consumer Protection Code (CDC ). The publication aims to emphasize the protection of consumer interests and encourage the promotion of free competition between companies. The investigation was carried out at 100 stations in various areas of the city.

Based on data provided by the Inspection Department, there is a significant variation in fuel prices in different regions of Manaus:
South Zone:
Regular Gasoline: R$ 6.07
Regular Diesel: R$ 6.25
Central-South Zone:
Additivated gasoline: R$ 6.16
North Zone:
Ethanol: R$ 4.19
East zone:
Diesel S10: R$ 6.28
According to the CEO of Procon-AM, Jalil Fraxe, the inspection aims to monitor the variation in prices charged in Manaus and provide consumers with information on where to look for the best purchasing options.
If the station is irregular, measures will be taken in accordance with the Consumer Code (CDC). “Inspection both adopts market mapping and inhibits abusive practices. It is fundamental in combating irregularities, whether in quantity, quality or price,’ he stated.
According to Procon’s Head of Inspection, Pedro Malta, the survey has been carried out weekly since 2019 and serves as an information channel, where the population can search for the best options for purchasing fuel.
“With this survey, we are able to visualize and assemble the Procon database so that, when there is an increase or decrease, we have the historical average of sales of these stations to make a comparison”, he explained.
