Due to the situation in RS, “Enem dos Concursos” is canceled in Rio Grande do Norte

In Rio Grande do Norte, more than 52 thousand candidates would take the tests in four cities: Natal, Mossoró, Parnamirim and Caicó.

Hours earlier, Governor Eduardo Leite (PSDB) asked the federal government to postpone the test in places affected by heavy rains in Rio Grande do Sul. However, the government confirmed the competition would take place throughout the country.

Postponing the contest would cost R$50 million. Now, due to pressure, he reversed his decision and decided to cancel the event.

The federal government decided to postpone the Unified National Public Competition, known as the “Enem of competitions”, across the country. The tests would be administered this Sunday (5).

The postponement was being evaluated by the government’s ministerial team, given the calamity situation in Rio Grande do Sul, caused by heavy rains ravaging the region.

On Thursday (2), the ministry had said in a note that the application of the competition would be maintained on Sunday.

A balance released by the government of Rio Grande do Sul early this Friday afternoon shows that the number of deaths due to the heavy rains that hit the state since the beginning of the week rose to 37. In total, 235 municipalities were affected.

According to MGI data, around 100,000 people were involved with the test — 80,000 candidates and 20,000 professionals working in the logistics of the Unified National Public Competition (CPNU).

How the contest works

The Unified National Public Competition will select candidates for 80 careers in more than 20 public bodies of the federal government, including ministries, foundations, regulatory agencies and research institutes.

There are vacancies for mid-level, technical and higher-level professionals.

The careers are divided into eight thematic blocks. When registering, the candidate chose one of the blocks and indicated their order of preference between the careers in that option, just as students indicate the order of preference of universities.

The test has objective questions, common to all candidates, and objective and essay questions specific to the chosen block.

Distribution of vacancies

There are 6,640 vacancies distributed across 21 federal agencies. Check out the departments with the greatest number of opportunities:

Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) — 1,480 vacancies;
Ministry of Labor and Employment for labor tax auditor — 900 vacancies;
National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (Incra) — 742 vacancies;
Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) — 620 vacancies;
National Foundation of Indigenous Peoples (Funai) — 502 vacancies;
Ministry of Health — 220 vacancies.

Quotas

According to the ministry, percentages will be reserved for specific quotas in the competition:

5% of the total vacancies for each position for candidates with disabilities;
20% to black candidates;
30% of vacancies for the National Foundation of Indigenous Peoples (Funai) for candidates of indigenous origin.
