The strike by teachers in the state education network of Santa Catarina entered its 12th day, this Saturday. Data from the State government’s Education Department shows that employee participation has decreased. On April 30, the survey showed that 15% of professionals had stopped work. The number would have decreased, this Thursday (2), to 6%. The calculation is made through the report of regional education coordinators.

Sinte, which is the union that represents the category, on the other hand, scheduled a new mobilization for May 8, next Wednesday. It will be in front of the Legislative Assembly of Santa Catarina (Alesc). The entity says it expects a salary adjustment proposal and also the career decompression plan, which has been part of the agenda in recent years. During the week, the union said that the category’s membership was at 40%.
In terms of quantity, according to data from the Department of Education, the city where there are the most teachers on strike is Florianópolis, with 362 permanent staff and 507 ACTs. The column also found that temporary layoffs have already begun to be carried out by the State government.
