Riedel poses for a photo with new public defenders
Fifteen new substitute defenders from the Public Defender’s Office of Mato Grosso do Sul were sworn in the night before by Governor Eduardo Riedel (PSDB), in a ceremony at the Full Court of the Court of Justice (TJMS). “Our State – since the beginning when we took over the Government, it is my first term in office – it has a very clear direction because it proposes to be prosperous, green, digital, but above all: an inclusive state. We can’t do this without the Public Defender’s Office of Mato Grosso do Sul”, said the governor. With the inauguration, the number of public defenders jumped from 204 to 219. The new defenders were approved in the XVIII Public Competition for Evidence and Titles, launched in 2021. At the time, the competition offered only seven immediate vacancies and registered 3,611 applications for the position . (With MS News Agency)
