The municipality of Sorriso will host, between the 14th and 15th of May (Tuesday and Wednesday), the 2nd Seminar for Agricultural Development of Mato Grosso. Promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, through the Regional Technical Unit for Agriculture and Livestock (Utra), in partnership with the Secretariat of Family Agriculture and Food Security (Semasa), the meeting aims to promote economic growth, job creation, in addition to contributing to technological advances in the agro-industrial sector.

Nova Mutum was the first municipality in the state to host the meeting, in 2023. On the occasion, technicians from the production sector and family farmers presented their own experiences as a suggestion for innovation in the sector.

For the edition of Sorriso, the central point of the debates will be products of animal origin with an emphasis on the technical responsibility of the veterinarian; trade and export of products of animal origin; equivalence of the Brazilian Animal Products Inspection System; Consortium Municipal Inspection Service (SIM); among other mechanisms developed with the purpose of boosting small, medium and large rural properties.

“Agroindustrialization is an important topic not only for family farming, but for the productive sector as a whole. By offering an event of this magnitude free of charge, we are enabling everyone, without exception, to have access to relevant data to promote the productive sector”, observes the department manager, Marlon Zanella, anticipating that the seminar will bring together representatives from the 15 municipalities that make up the Consortium Alto Teles Pires Intermunicipal Economic and Environmental Development Council (Cidesa).

The opening of the 2nd Seminar for Agricultural Development of Mato Grosso takes place on Tuesday (14), from 7am to 5pm, on the premises of the Farroupilha amphitheater at the Farroupilha Events Center, in the Rota do Sol neighborhood.
