The Guaíba will remain very high this Saturday with huge river flows still reaching the capital area. The situation worsens in Greater Porto Alegre with the peak flow of the Gravataí and Sinos rivers advancing through the region, with the waters being able to overcome dikes in some points. The state will have a lot of clouds and rain or drizzle in most cities, but the rain will not worsen the flooding in the capital.
Instability is greater in the North with the risk of heavy to very heavy rain in parts of Serra and Aparados, where the sources of rivers in the valleys are located. In the extreme south, the weather is firm. Intervals of temporary improvement occur. Mild temperature, not too cold, a relevant fact with many people outside.
More instability on Sunday. A hot front advances from North to South in Rio Grande do Sul this Sunday and causes more instability. Although there are openings and the sun appears at different points, many clouds are expected in the state. The rain progresses throughout the day and can be heavy and with isolated thunderstorms. The temperature will be higher.
In Porto Alegre, Saturday is full of clouds and there are also moments of rain and drizzle. Intervals without rain or temporary improvement may occur. The temperature will be mild. On Sunday, a day with lots of clouds and occasional openings, but a warm front brings a chance of rain throughout the day. The temperature rises further.
A substantial improvement in the weather occurs in Porto Alegre on Monday, when the large mass of hot and dry air from the Center of Brazil advances towards Rio Grande do Sul. The day will be sunny with an atypically hot afternoon for May with a maximum around of 33ºC.
