The Government of Minas Gerais, through the Minas Gerais Fire Department (CBMMG), the State Civil Defense Coordination (Cedec-MG) and the Health Secretariat (SES-MG), sent, on Thursday afternoon ( 2), support teams in Rio Grande do Sul. The objective is to provide necessary assistance in search and rescue actions for victims of floods caused by the recent rains that hit the state. This Wednesday (1st), two Civil Defense professionals from Minas Gerais traveled to the state to begin the first work.

Integration between the specialized bodies of the Government of Minas Gerais is essential for sending operational reinforcement to Rio Grande do Sul. Military firefighters are specialized in search and rescue in floods and floods and must remain on this mission for at least a week.

In total, 28 CBMMG soldiers will be transported by both land vehicles and aircraft. The Cesna Caravan plane, from SES-MG, took off from Pampulha airport on Thursday afternoon (2), carrying part of the team, and has a structure to transport any victims.

A second aircraft, a Eurocopter AS350 Ecureuil helicopter, known as Esquilo, takes off this Friday (3) in the morning, from the city of Uberaba, in the Triângulo Mineiro, carrying firefighters and specialized rescue equipment. Estimated arrival is this Friday afternoon.

The rest of the team, traveling by land, departs from the Military Firefighters Academy, in Belo Horizonte, and should arrive at their final destination on Friday night (3).
