The State Council for the Environment (Coema) will analyze and vote during the 316th Ordinary Meeting, this Thursday (2), the technical opinions of the State Superintendency for the Environment (Semace) related to renewable energy projects, mining and production of shrimp. The meeting takes place in a hybrid format, in the Semace auditorium, at 2 pm, with live broadcast on the municipality’s YouTube.

One of the projects under analysis is the Lagoa Azul shrimp farm, in Camocim, which intends to raise shrimp of the Litopenaeus vannamei species in an area of ​​363 hectares with nurseries and pre-nursery tanks. Another highlight is the Tianguá III Wind Complex, in Tianguá, with seven wind generating plants with 70 wind turbines of 4.5 MW each.

The Pecém Photovoltaic Complex project, in Pentecoste, will also be presented, with 12 Photovoltaic Parks and a total power of 600 MWac. Furthermore, the expansion of MDN Mineração do Nordeste to extract iron ore and limestone in Sobral will be discussed.

The meeting will be chaired by the president and State Secretary for the Environment and Climate Change (Sema), Vilma Freire, and will be attended by the secretary of the Council and superintendent of Semace, Carlos Alberto Mendes, and other members of the collegiate.

During the session, counselors will have access to environmental studies to clarify doubts about the projects. Council approval is necessary for Semace to grant the installation license for the projects, part of the environmental licensing process.
