In a strategic meeting held this Thursday (02), at Sebrae’s headquarters in Rio Grande do Norte (Sebrae-RN), the institution’s board of directors and the airport manager of Zurich Airport Brasil, Rodrigo Abreu, joined forces to outline a joint action plan that aims to strengthen the state by generating opportunities and income from tourist activity.
The manager of Zurich Airport Brasil, the new operator of Natal International Airport, was received by the president of the Sebrae-RN Deliberative Council, Itamar Manso Maciel, the institution’s directors, José Ferreira Melo Neto (superintendent), Marcelo Toscano (Operations) and João Hélio Cavalcanti (coach). Also present at the meeting were the manager of the Sebrae-RN Tourism Project, Yves Guerra and the manager of the institution’s Business, Innovation and Technology Unit, David Góis.
According to the superintendent director of Sebrae-RN, José Ferreira Melo Neto, the meeting was an important moment of rapprochement and recognition of the possibilities of joint contribution between Sebrae and the new operator of Natal airport.
“The partnership with the new operator of Natal Airport is a union of forces to unlock the tourist potential of Rio Grande do Norte. We are confident that by working together we can achieve positive results for small businesses and for the state as a whole”, said the superintendent director.
The president of the Sebrae-RN Deliberative Council, Itamar Manso Maciel, expressed optimism regarding the contribution between Sebrae and Zurich Airport Brasil.
“It’s time to strengthen synergies between Sebrae and the new tour operator. We are available to discuss joint strategies that benefit Rio Grande do Norte”, stated president Itamar Manso Maciel.
During the meeting, the manager of Zurich Airport highlighted that the company is committed to delivering more than just operating the airport. “Zurich Airport’s mission goes beyond simply operating Natal International Airport. We are committed to acting as a development catalyst, generating opportunities and income in the communities where we are present and we know that Sebrae will be a great partner in this initiative”, highlighted the manager of Zurich Airport Brasil, Rodrigo Abreu.

For Abreu, one of the first steps to be worked on together is strengthening tourism in Rio Grande do Norte. “We need to explore the enormous tourist potential of Rio Grande do Norte and create attractions that not only attract tourists, but also delight them and make them return. RN has a lot to offer and it is time to put these riches on the global tourism map.”, he highlighted.
The Sebrae-RN board will hold regular meetings with representatives from Zurich Airport Brasil to plan joint actions and monitor the progress made.
