ES Government – Capixabas win medals at the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship

The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship, held by the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Confederation (CBJJ), in Barueri (SP), came to an end last Saturday (27) with impressive results for the athletes from Espírito Santo. Thaís Loureiro and Adriana Cristina took the podium and won the bronze and silver medals, respectively.

Thaís Loureiro is covered by the Bolsa Atleta program and Adriana Cristina had air tickets granted by the Voe Atleta program, both from the Department of Sports and Leisure (Sesport). In the black belt of the Adult category, Thaís Loureiro put up a good fight and won the bronze. In the brown belt of the Master category, Adriana Cristina stood out by winning the silver medal.

Twins from Espírito Santo Raul and Ramon Schunk and Mateus Porto also participated in the Brazilian Championship, but did not reach the finals. Ramon Schunk is a recipient of the Bolsa Atleta and also traveled through the Voe Atleta program, together with Mateus Porto.

Athlete Scholarship

Bolsa Atleta’s main objective is to benefit high-performance athletes and para-athletes, with monthly financial assistance that must be used to maintain the results obtained and the athlete’s sporting career in the year in which the benefit is received.

With an investment of R$3.9 million, the 2024 call for proposals reached a record number of high-performance athletes selected, with 234 selected, 43 more than in the previous call. Those selected will be paid 12 monthly installments, according to the category: student (R$500), national (R$1,500), international (R$2,000) and Olympic (R$4,000).

Fly Athlete

Voe Atleta, formerly Compete Esportivo, is a program that pays for plane tickets, with the aim of enabling the participation of athletes and para-athletes from Espírito Santo in national and international competitions.
