Neta is another Chinese automaker and arrives in Brazil this month

-

Increasingly, Chinese automakers are looking fondly at our market. JAC and Cherry (the latter through a partnership with CAOA) have been here for longer, while BYD is investing billions to manufacture in Brazil. GWM has also spent a year in Brazil and is growing. Later this year, Omoda and Jaecoo will arrive. And another manufacturer from the Asian country will arrive in Brazil this month: Neta.

No, it was not created by Brazilians with a foot in China – only the name refers to our language. With ten years of existence, the automaker plans to bring two electric models to the country right away, but is already working to debut a hybrid SUV next year, according to Henrique Sampaio, director of marketing and product at Neta in Brazil.

Sampaio informed the Estadão that the company recently received a contribution from the Chinese government of 4 billion yuan (R$ 2.8 billion, in direct conversion), aimed at promoting the area of research and development, in addition to expanding exports.

Today, the automaker has three factories in China and one in Thailand. The vehicles that will be sold here will come from Chinese plants. Sampaio does not confirm, but the company has more ambitious plans, designing a future Tupiniquim factory. However, the company executive only informs that Brazil will be the group’s hub in the region.

Neta further represents Chinese advancement in Brazil

  • With the arrival of yet another Chinese automaker in the country, the great expansion strategy proposed by China in the global vehicle market becomes clearer;
  • Brazil, according to the periodical, plays a vital role in this endeavor, as Brazilians are consumers open to new things, whether in products or technologies;
  • It is also to be admired the advancement of Chinese vehicles in terms of their construction, electronic resources and design.

O Estadão highlights that these advances, which show that China has finally got the recipe right to conquer abroad, clearly appears at the Beijing Motor Show, which runs until this Saturday (4).

There, you can find various types of models, especially passenger cars and pickup trucks, as well as light commercial vehicles, all well-finished and with great multimedia technology systems, as well as beautiful designs, showing that the country has truly evolved in these areas.

Furthermore, the periodical’s impression is that Western cars have lost a lot of space at the Beijing Motor Show, becoming a thing of the past. However, many Chinese products have designs that date back to successful models. One example is the Neta GT, a coupe that really feels like it has been seen before.

In fact, the model will be the first to be sold here. Neta informs that, even though it is electric, it resembles a combustion sports car: it goes from 0 km/h to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds in the version with power equivalent to 462 hp.

In the light version, with 231 hp, it needs 6.5 seconds to reach the same speed. Much better than many flex vehicles around here. However, the automaker did not disclose the price of the EV in Brazil.

O Estadão It also highlights the GT’s excellent finish, ignoring the fact that it is sporty and has four seats and great interior space. It also has two large internal screens, one horizontally, which can be used as an instrument panel, and another vertically, which serves as multimedia.

Granddaughter L arrives in Brazil in 2025

The hybrid SUV that arrives in 2025 here is the Neta L. It has just landed in China to compete with the BYD Song Plus, which is already in our country.

Neta claims that the L runs more than a thousand kilometers on just one tank of gas. The combustion engine, which is at the front of the hybrid, works as an electricity generator, producing the energy that the electric vehicle uses to move the car.

The other vehicle that will arrive in Brazil by the end of this year is the Neta Aya, prepared to compete with entry-level electric cars, especially BYD Dolphin Mini and JAC e-JS1, so its price could be around R$120 thousand.

Sampaio said that the company’s first office in Brazil, located on Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo (SP), is already operational. He did not say how many dealerships the brand wants to have in Brazil, but claimed that they are in advanced negotiations with several business groups.

However, there is some small information about them: it is known that they will be installed in the Southeast and Central-West, although there are interested parties in the Northeast and other Brazilian regions, highlighted the Neta executive.

The brand has three other cars in its portfolio, but will soon have three more vehicles, thus increasing its range.
