Servers who are victims of domestic violence will have paid leave in Bahia

State public servants who are victims of domestic violence will be guaranteed paid leave for a minimum period of up to 10 days. The legislative authorization was published in the official journal of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Bahia and among the justifications is that the measure is to ensure that civil servants can seek help and, thus, return to their daily activities.

Public Servants are considered to be any woman, regardless of class, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, income, culture, educational level, age or religion, held in a public position or function in the Direct Administration, Local Authorities, State Law Foundations Public and in the Legislative Assembly of the State of Bahia.

To take advantage of paid leave, employees who are victims of domestic and family violence will have to register a police report, which must be filed with the Human Resources department of the Agency to which the employee is linked. The leave will be granted for a period of 10 (ten ) days, without prejudice to extension for an equal period, upon presentation of a Psychological Report,
